Toyota Electric Car: When Is It Coming?. What Will It Be?

The Toyota Electric Car / Sports Hybrid was introduced at the 2007 NAIAS as a likely replacement for the Toyota Supra...

The reason this is possible is because the combination of electric drive and 3.3 litre Engine creates 400 hp that can reach 60 mph in 4 seconds or less...

Now 400 horses snorting away and in a car built by Toyota, has Toyota Lovers foaming at the mouth with lust! This is the current battle: Between Pure Toyota Electric cars and Gasoline Power backed up by Electric motors or, Hybrids...

...Which will win? Time will tell...

This is a fast charging system, designed to reduce the charging time of the car and extend the lifespan of the batteries...

Possibly Lithium Ion, with Nano Titanate cathodes, which produce a safe battery...

Or maybe, a SuperCapacitor system? We don't know yet...

But I have had a guess...

The cars above have a modern profile, and they are aerodynamically tuned for maximum sleekness at speed...

The positioning of the cars shown are as an affordable, exotic car...

If they can pull that off, they have a winner here...

Especially if it looks like the new Supra shown above for comparison...

Front engined, rear wheel drive and everything has been done to reduce weight in this car...

Carbon fibre is everywhere, including the wheels...

Now whether this becomes a production car, with modifications, or simply disappears, will be up to the people who love Toyota Cars..
